Be Prepared!
Be Prepared!
I know it has been a while since my last post but I thought this topic needed entertaining.
Mostly everyone has heard the old Boy Scout motto, “Be Prepared.” It’s funny how that concept can apply to almost anything you do not just wilderness survival. This article is mostly for the people who are looking to have a website developed by a professional or developing a website on your own.

Have an Idea of what you want
The best way to get your website up and running quickly is to have an idea of what you want. I’m not saying you should know your colors or font choice right off bat but you should know how many pages you want and the content you want to display on each of those pages. This leads into the next point.
Have your material ready
I’ve had numerous projects where I completed all the preliminary steps of design and stylized the website but still not have the content to put on the page. A web designer can do wonderful things like tell you how to place keywords for SEO but they can’t describe your business or read your mind. That said, write out what you want for each page, proof read it or have someone else read it for clarity.
Research, Research, Research
Do your homework and have an idea of your audience. When having a website made, you need to know who you want to view your content. Don’t say everyone because everyone is impossible to define. It also helps to know this information for searching purposes, when a potential viewer is looking for information, they put in keywords related to what they want to see. Your hope is that the keyword or phrase they put in matches the keywords on your website.
Until next time…
